About Your Trip

Price displayed above is per person based on double occupancy for the deluxe ocean view stateroom and does not include US$129 in government fees and taxes per person. Upgraded cabin categories are available at an additional cost. Click “Update Price” for final price per person, which includes government fees and taxes.

Head to Ecuador for an adults-only adventure both on land and at sea. On a guided tour of Quito, you can stand in the middle of the world at the point where the Northern and Southern hemispheres meet! Visit 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites: San Francisco monastery, a Roman Catholic complex, and la Compania, a Jesuit church. The next day starts with a flight to Baltra, where you’ll board the Celebrity Xperience for an excursion-filled cruise along the southern loop of the Galapagos Islands. At every stop, take advantage of complimentary activities such as snorkeling, swimming, hiking and kayaking.

Make your way 1st to North Seymour, site of the largest colony of frigate birds in the region. Look for blue-footed boobies, sea lions and large land iguanas on your walk. South Plaza, a rocky island off the coast of Santa Cruz Island, is home to tall prickly pear cactuses and roaming land iguanas, marine iguanas and sea lions. In Barrington Bay, you may see sea lions or the occasional sea turtle or ray on your snorkeling excursion. Cruise to Punta Pitt, the only place in the area where you can find all 3 species of boobies — red-footed, blue-footed and Nazca — nesting together. Then, head to Cerro Brujo, the eroded remains of a volcanic tuff, or ash, cone and one of the 1st sites visited by Charles Darwin.

Sail on to Floreana Island and visit Post Office Bay, where a barrel was designated around 1793 for pirates, buccaneers and whalers to leave mail for pickup by outgoing ships. Your next stop is Baroness Outlook, named for the baroness who once lived there with her 3 lovers. Look for golden eagle rays, sea turtles, sea lions and the occasional Galapagos penguin on your Zodiac boat ride. Check out the green-hued beach sand at Cormorant Point and try to spot flamingos, stilts and white-cheeked pintail ducks at the small lagoon. While snorkeling at Champion Bay, look for tropical fish, sea turtles, sharks, sea stars and playful sea lions. Stop at Elizabeth Bay, one of the farthest points you’ll reach on your cruise. A field of hardened black lava at Punta Moreno is dotted with shallow pools that provide a home to shorebirds and flamingos.

After docking at Puerto Ayora, visit the National Park Service tortoise-breeding center and the Charles Darwin Research Station. Take a bus to the highlands for the chance to observe giant tortoises in the wild and walk through a lava tunnel. Then, cruise to Espanola Island — the oldest island in the Galapagos. Head to the sparkling white-sand beach at Gardner Bay to enjoy one of the best areas for swimming and relaxing, and spotting Darwin’s finches and Espanola mockingbirds. Go for a long, rocky walk at Suarez Point to look for waved albatross and see an impressive blowhole that mimics a towering geyser. Mosquera Islet hosts one of the Galapagos Islands' largest populations of sea lions, along with being habitat to lava gulls, coastal birds, Sally Lightfoot crabs, dolphins and orcas. Disembark in Baltra for a return flight to Quito. Enjoy more time in Ecuador’s capital before concluding your journey.

What we love:
• The Galapagos Islands are filled with ancient volcanos and indigenous marine life, birds and plants.
• Continue the tradition at Post Office Bay by leaving addressed postcards in the barrel and sorting through mail left behind to deliver at home.
• Take a Zodiac boat ride from Elizabeth Bay to a sheltered and secluded mangrove ecosystem. The refuge is a feeding site for sea turtles, rays, blue-footed boobies, flightless cormorants, penguins, pelicans, lava herons and more.
